Welcome !! You have entered a space where all people are invited to gather to discuss matters of Spirituality, in mutual respect and friendliness: "Considering...Spirituality." Here, the focus is on personal spirituality and not dogma. We welcome with open arms people from any, all, and no religious/faith backgrounds, and those who practice spirituality on their own, to join us for a discussion centered on a higher consciousness. Each day there will be a quote, question, or discussion prompt presented for all to ponder and respond to.
**In maintaining an atmosphere of comfort and trust, we do not allow proselytizing (the effort of trying to convert others) or the denigrating of the religions and viewpoints of others. We also avoid bringing up topics such as politics, hot button social issues, or anything that can be considered divisive**
As this was a WW board, we also discuss our personal wellness, including our weight management program. We share our struggles and our triumphs regarding such as well as discuss things like family, friends, jobs, hobbies, outside interests, etc... We strive to build each other up with loving support in a positive manner. Let us not ever tear one another down in any way, shape or form.
Regular thread starters for the time being are:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Gary / Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Holly
Yet if anyone is so inclined, please feel free to start a new thread by beginning with the title: "Considering ... (topic)," post this introduction (by way of copy & paste) then follow that with a post putting forth a question and/or quote (with or without some explanation) for us to ponder today. The topic can be inspired by your personal faith, but please do remember that anyone from other spiritual paths should be able to answer it.
Shalom, Love & Light, Blessed Be, Namaste...

Ever have a day when you just need a pick-me-up to get you started?
For those of you looking for a short pick-me-up, something to remind you to stand strong and smile even in your struggles, you need to read this message from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf:
The Lord knows you. He knows your heart and is pleased with your sacrifice. He smiles upon you each day. He will uphold you and prepare the way for you. He will send His angels before you. You will feel their presence. And with the help of heaven, your talents will be multiplied.
I promise you that as you lift those around you, the Lord God, the Creator of the universe, will lift you up. If you will only believe and incline your heart to our Beloved Father, He will place within you a peace that surpasses understanding. He will give you joy. May each of you always remember this.
Today's q/q: What inspires you to get through the day when you are down? How does spirituality make a difference?

Gary, I'm thinking of you and your GF this morning. What are you finding to inspire you to get through the day(s), anticipating that phone call you so very clearly want to receive? I'll add you to my prayers during the amidah at morning minyan in a little more than an hour.

Thanks Holly. She has texted me the last 2 days and they are positive texts ... like "Have a good day" type texts, but not addressing the issues. I can tell she doesn't want to end the relationship any more than I do but she's not ready to talk yet. What inspires me to get through the day? Well, my faith for one, and getting the texts do mean something, that she is thinking of me. Not hearing from her for 3 or 4 days straight was what was driving me crazy. At least if she is sending me texts I have hope and I know she is OK (because I know she has been sick with the high humidity).

Leaving for some appointments. Will be home later.

Hi Everyone, Trying to catch up on the threads last couple of days.
Christina--I miss the Catholic boards--those ladies were so nice. I am eating healthfully, just not sure I can do WW...I think a break is in order. I enjoy the meetings but feel they are too short. Lot's of driving for 1/2 hour. Anyway, I've learned enough good habits from them to keep going. And of cours I Have all of you here. You guys always inspire me.
Gary, i hope that things continue to move in a positive direction. It's hard to dialogue long distance and its hard to communicate through texts. I gotta say that you are a very patient person and you understand the your gf and how she processes through things.
To days question: I'm inspired by my faith in G0d and by friends (I count all of you in that category) . There is always someone to pick me up. I also start writing a gratitude letter to G0d. All the things that I have that he has blessed me with. Many people would trade their problems for mine in a heart beat. I'm not a refugee displaced by war, I have good health a home and job. etc. I have freedom to express and explore spirituality. To read, to write, to study. So many don't have these things. When I'm done with my letter, my own problems seem puny.
I say a big thank you for all my blessings and I pray for those that have much harder problems to solve.

I am probably one of the last people on earth qualified to answer this question today. Due to the fact that my boss forced me to send help to another location today both my staff and myself Endured a day from hell.
We did not have enough staff to properly handle over 160 patients today. Everyone was angry doctors and patients a like the staff all looked shellshocked by the end of the day. And my boss could not care any less.
I am getting to the point of not caring about this job anymore and that is scary because I cannot afford to not work a single day.
Gary I really hope that your GF calls soon. I can only imagine that you must be very frustrated waiting for this call. Do you have to wait for her to call can you call her?

Christina, the dynamics of our relationship would make me calling her not a good idea at this time. For one thing, I might catch her transporting a client which is strictly prohibited by her job, and she has a sensitive family situation which would make calling her at home prohibitive. You would have to know the dynamics of our situation to understand - and I totally respect her privacy in that regard. Honestly, I feel 100% better just getting texts from her letting me know she is ok and thinking about me. To say the least, it's complicated, but I've known her long enough not to rock the boat in this regard.
I also understand about not caring so much about our jobs. I have the same situation at Walmart with some of the fickle managers.
