Welcome!! You have entered a space where all people are invited to gather to discuss matters of Spirituality, in mutual respect and friendliness: "Considering...Spirituality." Here, the focus is on personal spirituality and not dogma. We welcome with open arms people from any, all, and no religious/faith backgrounds, and those who practice spirituality on their own, to join us for a discussion centered on a higher consciousness. Each day there will be a quote, question, or discussion prompt presented for all to ponder and respond to.
**In maintaining an atmosphere of comfort and trust, we do not allow proselytizing (the effort of trying to convert others) or the denigrating of the religions and viewpoints of others. We also avoid bringing up topics such as politics, hot button social issues, or anything that can be considered divisive**
As this was a WW board, we also discuss our personal wellness, including our weight management program. We share our struggles and our triumphs regarding such as well as discuss things like family, friends, jobs, hobbies, outside interests, etc... We strive to build each other up with loving support in a positive manner. Let us not ever tear one another down in any way, shape or form.
Regular thread starters for the time being are:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Gary
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Holly
Yet if anyone is so inclined, please feel free to start a new thread by beginning with the title: "Considering....(topic -q/q)", post this introduction (by way of copy & paste) then follow that with a post putting forth a question and/or quote (with or without some explanation) for us to ponder today. The topic can be inspired by your personal faith, but please do remember that anyone from other spiritual paths should be able to answer it.
Shalom, Love & Light, Blessed Be, Namaste...

The following is from a LDS Living article in which one of our Apostles, Robert D. Hales offered the following advice:
In my life I have learned that sometimes I do not receive an answer to a prayer because the Lord knows I am not ready. When He does answer, it is often “here a little and there a little” because that is all that I can bear or all I am willing to do.
Too often we pray to have patience, but we want it right now! As a young man, President David O. McKay prayed for a witness of the truthfulness of the gospel. Many years later, while he was serving his mission in Scotland, that witness finally came. Later he wrote, “It was an assurance to me that sincere prayer is answered ‘sometime, somewhere.’”
We may not know when or how the Lord’s answers will be given, but in His time and His way, I testify, His answers will come. For some answers we may have to wait until the hereafter. This may be true for some promises in our patriarchal blessings and for some blessings for family members. Let us not give up on the Lord. His blessings are eternal, not temporary.
Today's q/q: What do you think of his advice? Do you often pray for patience and you want it right now? (I thought this was funny). How do you know when you have been given an answer to prayer?

I am not the most patient person, but I never pray for patience. In my experience when I did pray for patience, I had a string of trying circumstances that tried my patience. Then a friend, share that that what G0d does in order to help you develop patience. He was answering my prayer. Got it! So, I don't pray for patience anymore. I tough it out. the older I get through, the easier it is to let things go and less patience is required that when I was younger.

I don't do a lot of praying for personal stuff, more along the lines of a complete healing for those who are ill. I do ask (for instance) where I can find my keys or whatever it is I can't find, but that's about the extent of my asking. I don't even pray for someone (including me) to pass an exam or anything like that. I practice what I need to do, and then do it; whether I succeed is usually dependent on how well I practiced, not on whether I asked God to help me do a good job with it...

Sure enough, the WW Community is gone! I just checked and they still haven't made Connect interactive on the desktop. I may be cancelling my membership soon since I really haven't been following the program anyway.

Gary I also dropped WW. This new program is just not for me. I'm glad that we migrated here. I would hate to lose touch with you and Holly and all the other regulars. I wonder how much this change will impact WW.

I tried creating a thread for today for the first time on here and it was so frustrating it would not allow me to post. I'm not sure I really like this forum

I ran into the same problem Christina. If you copy an opening post into a new thread it won't take it unless you have typed something first. What I do is just type the first word of the opening, then paste the opening in. Then it will let you post.
