Considering ... In the Beginning, Wed 10/26

Actually, we believe the world was created by the Word, not words. The Word is one of the many names given in scripture to Jesus Christ. Another name more familiar to the Jews is Jehovah. We also believe we were created long before this world was created and in fact many of the "noble and great ones" helped create the earth. From the book of Abraham 3 in our Pearl of Great Price:

22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;

23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.

Darkness comes into my life when I am being rebellious and not following Christ. Light comes into my life when I am.

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is what is in our scriptures. By partaking of this tree Adam and Eve became mortal and thus able to conceive children and fulfil the first great commandment, to "multiply and replenish the earth". By partaking of this tree, somehow in a way not understood by mankind, the earth and it's inhabitants "fell" from the immediate presence of God and we had to learn by our own experiences to distinguish good from evil.

How do I handle temptation? Sometimes not very well. I have never seen anybody more self-disciplined than my gf. She has been trying to instill more self-discipline into my life since she has known me with varying degrees of success.

A biggie for me is not to pursue women on the internet. I was quite fortunate to meet her using the internet, but other relationships I have started have ended up being disasterous.
